Is there any application for the Torotrak transmission in motor racing?

Regulations ban the use of CVTs in Formula one.

Several years ago a company took a licence to develop the Torotrak IVT technology for Motorsport following on from the success of belt driven CVTs in this application. However, shortly before the development work commenced the regulations for most classes of Motorsport were changed banning the use of CVTs. This restriction still stands for Formula One.

Although CVTs are permitted in some forms of Motorsport, Torotrak does not feel in-house development for this application would be a suitable use of their resources at this stage. However, if a third party was interested in taking a licence for the technology in this area Torotrak would supply their services on a commercial basis.
