How many test miles/hours have the IVT's clocked up?

Extensive tests have been carried out on rigs running transmission to the equivalent and in excess of vehicle life. In the industry rig running is considered to deliver more dependable results than vehicle miles and vehicle durability is only usually carried out as a final check on the finished production design.

In the past few years much work has been carried out on the durability of the full toroidal variator (the unique component in the IVT) and this has resulted not only in verification of the durability but developments have enabled the variator to be downsized for a given life and power requirement.
