Torotrak plc (the "Company") announces that on 2nd August 2006 Mr John Grant, Nonexecutive Chairman of the Company, purchased 100,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at 24p per Ordinary Share.

Following this transaction, Mr Grant has a beneficial interest in 326,003 Ordinary Shares that is 0.27% of the issued Share Capital of the Company.
