Torotrak is an intellectual property company focused on research, development and commercialisation of full-toroidal traction drive technology for on- and off-highway vehicle application, the main objective being increased fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Our principal ‘end products’ are patents, design rules, models, knowhow and the transfer of our knowledge to our licensees.
Our premises are composed entirely of offices and test facilities, since we have no manufacturing capability. ‘Resources’ principally comprise employees and equipment, while ‘production processes’ are largely cerebral involving the skill, knowledge and ingenuity of our employees. They do not involve any hazardous substances or complex waste. Our operations are therefore ‘low impact’ in environmental terms.
Torotrak’s environment policy is to:
- Meet the statutory requirements placed on the Group
- Apply ‘best practice’ on environmental issues to minimise the impact of our engineering, build and test functions
- Aim to recycle as much of the Group’s waste products as is economically practical. Those items that cannot be recycled will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
